Months ago, Jain monk Muni Nilesh Chandra Vijay had protested the BMC's move to close pigeon-feeding sites in Mumbai. The community has now launched its own political party, the Shanti Doot Jankalyan Party, with a pigeon as its symbol, HT reported. Announcement came during a prayer meeting for pigeons they claimed had died since BMC began shutting down designated spots.
