After a string of unsuccessful businesses, Venkat Reddy began vermicomposting in 2013 with support from his wife Jyothi. They started from their farm near Hyderabad in Telangana and now have five units. A low investment and high returns business, vermicomposting brings them a monthly turnover of ₹6 lakh from sales in four states.
