Nobel Prizes were set up by businessman and dynamite inventor Alfred Nobel, who left the majority of his fortune for their establishment. These should be awarded  to "those who...shall have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind", his will stated. A Nobel Prize laureate receives a gold medal, a diploma, and SEK 11 million (₹10.4 crore) cash per full prize.
