As per Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Makhana Board in Bihar will improve its production, marketing and value addition in the state. Makhana is harvested from the prickly water lily, a plant that is spread across over 15,000 hectares in Bihar. The farmers will be organised into FPOs and the board will provide handholding and training support to them.
