The Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) 3 norms have proposed to offer additional exemptions to smaller cars. Petrol vehicle models with engine capacity not exceeding 1200 cc and length not exceeding 4000 mm will be able to claim a further reduction of 3g CO₂/km, with a cap of 9g/km of CO₂ in any reporting period.
