Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said a huge loss of life is expected in the crash of Air India's passenger plane near the Ahmedabad airport. "The Gujarat administration is carrying out a massive rescue operation and the surviving passengers of the plane are being safely evacuated...I pray to God...the injured in this terrible accident recover at the earliest," Shinde said.
