Authorities have launched a probe after the husbands of six newly elected women panchayat representatives (panches) allegedly took oath instead of their wives in Chhattisgarh's Kabirdham. They claimed their wives were illiterate and couldn't read. However, an official denied that any Sarpanch pati took oath. A video of the swearing-in ceremony appeared on social media prompting the investigation.
