Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said recognising Palestine as a state before it's established could be "counterproductive". "I'm very much in favour of State of Palestine but I'm not in favour of recognising it prior to establishing it," said Meloni, adding, "If something that doesn't exist is recognised on paper, the problem could appear to be solved when it isn't."
