Sanjeev Sanyal, PM Narendra Modi's economic advisor, said the government doesn't want another "inspector raj" to ensure companies pass on benefits of GST rate cuts to customers by slashing product prices. "I've very little sympathy (for companies) other than minor issue of labelling...but that's transition issue," Sanyal said. "What argument is there about not passing [GST cuts] on?" he added.
