After Indian Railways announced fare hike, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar criticised the Centre, saying, "They're continually increasing prices of petrol, diesel...and now railway fares." He added that state BJP leaders should react, as they "shout" when the state hikes the price of anything. Fares have increased by 1 paise/km for non-AC and 2 paise/km for AC classes.
