Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar responded to whether the underwhelming box office performance of 'I Want to Talk' affected him. He said he was "completely disoriented", adding, "I did not know what exactly did or did not work in terms of audiences going to the theatre." As per Sacnilk, the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer film grossed ₹2.51 crore at the domestic box office.
