IAMAI has urged Centre to temporarily exempt certain legal restrictions under Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act on using publicly available personal data for AI firms. IAMAI argued that current data protection requirements could hinder AI training. It added that DPDP's rules make it impractical for these firms to verify if all publicly accessible personal data was voluntarily shared.
