IBM and Cisco have partnered to develop networked, fault-tolerant quantum computers, aiming for commercial deployment by the early 2030s. The companies plan to tackle core challenges in building a quantum computing internet and target a proof-of-concept within five years that links large-scale quantum systems to run joint computations across thousands of qubits.
