ICICI Bank increased minimum monthly average balance (MAB) requirement for savings accounts opened after August 1 from ₹10,000 to ₹50,000 in the first such change since 2015. The decision doesn't affect salary accounts and pertains to accounts in metro and urban locations. The minimum balance requirement for accounts in semi-urban locations is ₹25,000 and ₹10,000 for those in rural locations.
