Researchers from IIT Bombay and Osmania General Hospital have identified 26 blood metabolites that can help detect diabetes risk early. The study, published in the Journal of Proteome Research, found new chemical markers like Valero betaine and ribothymidine, revealing that Type 2 diabetes affects multiple metabolic pathways beyond glucose regulation, aiding in better prediction and care.
