IIT Madras Associate Professor Mitesh Khapra has been featured in TIME magazine’s 2025 list of 100 most influential people in AI. He got the recognition alongside Elon Musk and Sam Altman for his research in natural language processing and machine learning. "Nearly every Indian startup working on voice technology for regional languages depends on datasets developed by Khapra," TIME said.
