Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the NDA Panchayat Pratinidhi Sammelan in Assam, said that 'ghuspaithiye', meaning illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries, particularly Bangladesh, used to marry young girls here. "CM Himanta Biswa Sarma sent all these people to jail," he added. "NDA freed lakhs of acres of land encroached upon by illegal immigrants," Shah said.
