Speaking about blast in Kanpur in which eight people were injured, Police Commissioner Raghuveer Lal said the blast "must have occurred due to illegally stored firecrackers, likely under the protection of certain police officers". "We will begin search operations to identify illegal crackers in the area," he stated. The incident occurred in Mishri Bazaar in Moolganj area of the city.
