IMD has issued an orange alert for six districts and a yellow alert for the remaining eight districts of Kerala. The rainfall is expected to intensify due to a cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Mannar and South Tamil Nadu. IMD cautions about water-logging, poor visibility, flooding in low-lying areas, strong winds, and the risk of landslides in hilly regions.
