In its response to US President Donald Trump after he announced a 25% tariff on India, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said, "The government attaches the utmost importance to protecting and promoting the welfare of our farmers, entrepreneurs, and MSMEs." It said it'll take necessary steps to secure India's national interest, like it has done during other trade deals.
