Former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, reacting to Supreme Court directing Delhi-NCR authorities to pick up stray dogs and have them shifted to shelters, said the directive is "impractical" and "financially unviable". She stated that there are three lakh dogs in the national capital and arranging shelter, drainage, water, kitchen for dogs will cost around ₹15,000 crore.
