In a 1st, scientists 3D bioprint mini placentas

In a first, scientists at Sydney's University of Technology have achieved a breakthrough by 3D bioprinting miniature placentas. For the study, miniature organs, known as 'organoids', were grown in bioprinted gel. "We showed these organoids were very similar to human placental tissue...This means we can start [solving] pregnancy complications and test new drugs safely," the first author said.
