Astronomers from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), while leading an international team, have discovered circular polarisation around a young, massive protostar about 4,500 light-years away for the first time. A protostar is an early stage in the formation of a star. This discovery marks a significant step towards understanding how massive stars form in the universe.
