India and France have agreed to co-develop a new jet engine to power the indigenous stealth fighter AMCA. The project, involving DRDO and Safran, a French company aims to transfer critical technology and boost India’s aerospace self-reliance. Seen as a major step in Indo-French ties, the engine will help India join the elite group designing advanced combat aircraft.
