India has appointed Dinesh K Patnaik as the next High Commissioner of India to Canada. "He is expected to take up the assignment shortly," the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday. In October 2024, India withdrew its High Commissioner after Canada linked him and some other Indian diplomats to killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
