India documented over 1,100 species in 2024, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav shared on Monday. While 683 new faunal species were recorded last year, 433 plant taxa were documented in the same period. Among the faunal finds were 459 new species and 224 new records, while flora included 410 new species and 23 infraspecific taxa.
