Ahead of PM Narendra Modi's visit to China, Congress alleged that India is being "forced" to normalise its ties with the country, largely on their terms. "China is trying to take advantage of the downturn in Indo-US ties," party leader Jairam Ramesh said. He added that PM's "clean chit" to China during the 2020 standoff has undermined our negotiating capacity.
