International Air Transport Association (IATA) Director General Willie Walsh said India has a "very complex" tax system. Calling for "greater certainty" around taxation, he said airlines sometimes get a new interpretation of an existing rule that's completely different to the way it was interpreted previously. "That leads to claims for unpaid taxes followed by years of litigation," Walsh added.
