The Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) urged India to seek US tariff rollback before committing to any trade pacts. Removing oil-related duty would cut the US tariff burden on Indian goods from 50% to 25%, giving much-needed relief to labour-intensive sectors. It also urged the government to quickly roll out the specific schemes under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM).
