India has been ranked as one of the world's most equal societies, with a Gini Index score of 25.5, according to World Bank. India ranks fourth globally after Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Belarus and is ahead of UK, China and US, with scores of 32.4, 35.7 and 41.8. The Gini Index measures how equally income is distributed across a country.
