India is preparing a ₹7,350-crore initiative to bolster domestic production of sintered rare-earth permanent magnets (REPMs) and reduce its near-total dependence on Chinese imports. The push comes as China announced new rules expanding restrictions on processing technology and overseas cooperation, particularly targeting foreign defence and semiconductor users.
