After a journalist asked about India losing fighter jets in the conflict with Pakistan, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan said, "I think what is important is...not the jet being downed but why they were being downed." However, on being questioned about Pakistan's claim of downing six of India's fighter jets, Chauhan stated it was "absolutely incorrect".
