The Indian government has restricted imports of silver and unstudded jewellery until March 31, 2026, following a sharp rise in imports, mostly from Thailand, amid suspected duty evasion under the ASEAN-India trade pact. Additionally, exporters of non-basmati rice must now register contracts with APEDA, as India's rice exports grew 6.4% in April-August FY26.
