Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday inaugurated India's first animal stem cell biobank and laboratory at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) in Hyderabad. The 9,300 sq ft biobank, constructed at a cost of ₹1.85 crore, will focus on regenerative medicine and cellular therapies for livestock. "The best of NIAB, and Indian biotechnology, is yet to come," Singh said.
