The restored version of India's first LGBTQ+ film, 'Badnaam Basti', will be screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in August 2025. Released in 1971, the film was directed by Prem Kapoor and follows a driver bandit named Sarnam who rescues Bansuri from an assault, and their relationship. The film stars Nitin Sethi, Amar Kakkad and Nandita Thakur.
