Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the 2.44-km Kalasavalli-Ambaragodlu Bridge over Sharavathi backwaters, now Karnataka's longest and India's second-longest cable-stayed bridge. Built at a cost of ₹472 crore, it features a 16 m-wide deck with 1.5 m-wide footpaths on both sides. The bridge will boost connectivity and improve access to Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple and Kollur Mookambike Temple.
