To introduce high-speed railways and ensure safer rides, Ministry of Railways has upgraded 78% of India's rail tracks to over 110kmph by early 2025. "Tracks are being upgraded across the country," Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said. The total length of tracks has increased to over 1 lakh km in 2025 from 79,342 km in 2014.
