The Defence Ministry (MoD) praised the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Systems (ATAGS) project as a "Mission Mode success" as it moves to replace vintage artillery with the indigenously developed 155mm/52 calibre guns. "We started this project in 2012…completed design to induction in 10 years," said ARDE Director A Raju. Built by DRDO, ATAGS has a maximum range of 48 km.
