India is developing a sovereign large language model (LLM) within 10 months, led by Soket AI Labs, Gnani.ai, and Gan.ai. With 18,600 GPUs and a national AI compute facility, the project aims to create an open-source, multilingual AI tailored for Indian needs, boosting self-reliance, data sovereignty, and the domestic AI startup ecosystem.
