PM Modi will inaugurate India’s first bamboo-based bio-refinery at Numaligarh, Assam, on September 14. The ₹7,200-cr project will produce 49,000 tonnes of ethanol annually, cutting crude imports and CO₂ emissions. Sourcing bamboo from 3,000 farmers, it will boost Assam’s economy, create jobs, and support India’s 20% ethanol blending target by 2025.
