In a major engineering milestone, the first 40-metre full-span pre-stressed concrete box girder for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor was launched in Maharashtra. Weighing 970 metric tonnes, it is the heaviest of its kind ever used in India. The structure, built using 390 cubic meters of concrete and 42 tonnes of steel, promises to accelerate construction significantly.
