To enhance its maritime security capabilities, India is in the final stages of acquiring six additional Boeing P-8I Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft for the Indian Navy. This procurement will expand the fleet from 12 to 18 aircraft, significantly boosting the Navy’s surveillance and anti-submarine warfare capacity. The new aircraft are set to be deployed under the Eastern Naval Command.
