India's sunshine hours have been steadily decreasing due to rising pollution levels, a study stated. Analysing data from 1988 to 2018 across nine regions, researchers found significant increase in sunlight from October to May and drop from June to July except in the northeast. They attributed the drop to aerosols increasing cloud cover, blocking solar radiation and shortening sunshine duration.
