India's unemployment rate among persons of age 15 years and above climbed up marginally to 5.2% in September from 5.1% recorded in August. A rise in the unemployment rate in rural areas (4.6%) and urban areas (6.8%) contributed to this increase in the overall unemployment rate. Unemployment rate among urban females increased to 9.3% whereas male unemployment rate increased moderately.
