India recorded 65 in-flight engine shutdowns in last five years and 11 Mayday distress calls in the last 17 months, as per data obtained by The Times of India through a Right to Information (RTI) query to aviation regulator DGCA. The data doesn't include the Air India flight to London which crashed or the Guwahati-Chennai IndiGo flight which was diverted.
