India asked Russia to ease non-tariff barriers (NTBs) and keep rupee trade afloat to begin FTA talks with the country-led Eurasian Economic Union, Moneycontrol reported. During the talks in August, India reportedly flagged Russia's NTBs, which were impacting its exports and making rupee payments for Russian oil difficult. India is hoping to sustain rupee-based trade by leveraging the deal.
