India has intensified efforts to combat rabies through the National Rabies Control Programme. The Health Ministry is strengthening bite surveillance, funding free vaccines and immunoglobulins, and setting up model anti-rabies clinics. Awareness drives, veterinary involvement, and advanced labs are also being expanded to reduce rabies deaths nationwide.
