India is planning to allow private companies to mine, import and process uranium, ending government's monopoly on the nuclear sector, Reuters reported, citing sources. PM Narendra Modi-led government wants to expand nuclear power production capacity by 12 times by 2047, the report said. Government is also reportedly relaxing requirements for foreign players to take minority stake in power plants.
