Amid US President Donald Trump's 'penalty' tariffs on India, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was asked if India will keep buying Russian oil, to which she replied, "Yes, that's been made very plain and simple." She added, "Whether it's Russian oil or anything else, it is our decision to buy from the place that suits our needs...We'll undoubtedly be buying it."
