Indian airlines are steadily increasing their share in the international passenger market, reducing foreign carriers' dominance from 60% pre-Covid to 55% now, according to ICICI Securities. While freight remains largely controlled by foreign players, new routes to Turkey, Ethiopia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan are fuelling growth. Total international passenger traffic reached 19.34 million in Q1CY25.
